Have a specific concern? Get in touch with me
01What happens during the first session?
The first session is primarily focused on understanding your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. I will ask questions about your current experiences, emotional well-being, personal history, and goals for therapy. It’s also a space for you to ask any questions you may have about the process. The aim is to build a shared understanding and establish a foundation for our work together.
02Do I need to have a diagnosis to begin therapy?
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to start therapy. Many clients seek therapy simply to better understand themselves, manage stress, or navigate life changes. Whether you're dealing with specific difficulties or exploring personal growth, therapy can provide a meaningful space for support and reflection.
03What does a typical therapy session look like?
essions last approximately 40 to 50 minutes. Each session is guided by your goals and needs at the time. Some sessions may involve discussing specific challenges, learning coping strategies, or examining thought patterns. Others may focus more on emotional processing, self-reflection, or understanding relational dynamics. Therapy is a flexible, evolving process.
04How often do sessions take place?
The frequency of sessions is decided collaboratively, based on your needs and availability. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, though this can be adjusted over time depending on progress and preference.
05Will everything I share in therapy remain confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy and is strictly maintained. Information shared in sessions is not disclosed without your consent, except in cases where there is a legal or ethical obligation to ensure safety (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).
06How long will I need to be in therapy?
The duration of therapy varies for each individual. Some clients find a few sessions sufficient to address a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work. We will periodically review progress and discuss what feels helpful to you, so therapy remains aligned with your goals.
07What if I don’t know what to talk about?
It’s completely okay. You don’t need to come with a clear agenda. Some sessions may start with silence or uncertainty, and that’s a natural part of the process. Together, we’ll explore what feels present for you in the moment, without pressure.
08Do you offer therapy for children and adolescents?
As a RCI registered clinical psychologist and child therapist, I offer a spectrum of children and adolescents oriented therapeutic solutions and treatment modalities. Therapy offers young children and growing adolescents a safe, age-appropriate space to explore their emotions, understand their reactions, and learn healthy coping skills.
09Can therapy help with relationship issues?
Relationships can be a source of support and connection, but are often faced with issues and concerns leading to emotional and mental damage. In marital and couple therapy, the work focuses on helping both partners understand underlying emotional patterns, improve communication, and rebuild emotional safety.
10What if I need urgent mental health support?
If you need to urgently resolve your mental health concerns, I recommend you to book a single session therapy with me. Single Session Therapy is a one-time, structured therapeutic conversation designed to help you clarify a specific concern, make a decision, or explore a stuck point.
